william james smyth, ww1
« on: Thursday 28 June 18 17:32 BST (UK) »
William James Smyth died on 3 Jan 1918 at the age of 21 having served with the Royal Irish Rifles.
His father was John Smyth. His place of death was recorded as " Le Ballyclare" ; elsewhere he is recorded as being from Le Ballyclare, Ballynure. This placename appears to be no longer in use.

Does anyone out there recognize these family/placenamrs; specifically, does anyone know where William James Smyth is buried.

Seems he was discharged due to Pthisis....so maybe he eventually died of tuberculosis?

He was first discharged in 1916.    As per service record. Father's address given as Ardmore? Tes ( terrace?). Green road...Ballyclare.
