Only one I can see is a James marrying a Selina Allen in Lincolnshire 1836. This family seems to stay in Louth, Lincolnshire and James Sutton is listed as born in Lincolnshire too.

I take it you found them on the 1841 which would be after Selena's burial?

The Selina who died in 1839 was living in Bedford Street. Mybe the 1841 census might give a clue aa to who she was but , then again, people moved around. Her death cert might be worth looking at for the informant but is it worth the ££s  :-\

It might be a bit early for newspaper reports but she was quite young - only 28. Maybe chldbirth or other postpartum cause.

Just throwing this into the pot, in case it's of use.

There is a baptism for a Mary Ann in 1838 with parents Job and  Hannah Sutton, living Bedford Street.

Hello

Looking worldwide on Family Search (not seen original images).

SLINAR is a very popular surname (a few in Derbyshire 17th Century), but quite a number elsewhere more recently, including a few apparently claiming to be born England (no detail), mid 19th Century.

It is not unusual for a child (esp. male) to be given a surname as a Forename, sometimes denoting his family descent or Mother's family, or relative.

 -----------

There were also a few SLENAR including a Visitor, Mary SLENAR (born about 1792) to the WHITE family in the UK 1851 Census. ADDED - I wonder if the image has this spelling.

The Job and Hannah is interesting.
I can see Job is born abt 1816 Ratby/Enderby going by census but I cant see a baptism. His marriage to Hannah Jelley/Gelley states that his father is Joseph Sutton.
Interestingly he marries a Hannah and has a son called Edwin.
My Sarah and Henry have 2 children called Hannah and Edwin.
Perhaps the Job Sutton is a cousin? and Selena was a cousin or sister to Sarah?

Hello
I've finally got round to getting Selina's death cert.
She is listed as 'Daughter of John Sutton, Labourer' died of Consumption, aged 28, 1839.
This is the exact same father Sarah lists and the same as all the other children of John and Elizabeth Sutton in Barlestone, leic.
The family look like this
John Sutton, Butcher married Elizabeth Pool in Barlestone by License. John is 43 and Elizabeth is 25. They marry 1810 Leicester/Barlestone. John was previously married to Elizabeth's cousin Hannah Pool.
John Sutton, Butcher becomes bankrupt in 1820 and after that is listed as a Labourer/Ag Lab on records.
Children are -
Selina Sutton, b.1811
Sarah Sutton, b.1814
William Sutton, b.1817
Sophia Sutton, b.1819
Elizabeth Sutton, b.1822
All children list their father as John Sutton, Labourer on their marriage certs and all list their birthplace as Barlestone on census. Apart from Selina but she is listed as Johns daughter on her death.

The first 3 children (Selina, Sarah and William) appear to not have been baptised or at least not as Anglicans.

The name is Selina is from the Pool side of the family. Elizabeths brother Richard Pool also has a daughter called Selina and Elizabeth also had a sister called Selina who died an infant. This name appears to have passed down the Pool and Fowkes line from Elizabeths 3rd Grt Grandmother Lady Selina Welby who was married to Sir Thomas Halford, 2nd Baronet of Wistow, Leic.

Regards, Thomas
