Residence on a birth certificate
« on: Friday 29 June 18 20:29 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody can make out the residence on the attached birth certificate. I know it's in Barnsley, but the rest of it is patchy to say the least. My guess is it says Collier Row (though I could just be hoping it says that as I'm trying to find evidence to link two families).

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I would agree it's Collier Row.

What year was this as you may be able to check with census records?

Hi,

I would also agree that it is 'Collier Row'.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Thanks for the replies.

The birth certificate is from 1843. The family mentioned on it lived on the "wrong" side of Barnsley in the 1841 and 1851 census, for the purposes of my research. I've struggled for months to find compelling evidence that links them to another family who I know did live in Collier Row in 1841, so this is big progress!
