tracking down relatives of RAF warhero F/Lt John Kennedy Stewart
« on: Saturday 30 June 18 15:21 BST (UK) »
For a proposed memorial unveiled 29th September 2018 i would like to get in touch with the relatives of F/Lt John Kennedy Stewart. He was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth Stewart; Husband of Edna Denley Stewart of Torquay,Devon.  F/Lt Stewart was a Navigator on a 35 sqdn Lancaster Pathfinders.
Returned from a raid on Dortmund 22 may 1944 his aircraft was intercepted by a German nightfighter and crashed near Vessem.

I hope that some one put me into the right direction to get in touch with his family

He was 33 when he died as per www.cwgc.org so born approx 1911.  He married in Dorset 1935 - Edna's maiden name was Dyall and she was born 1907 in Yorkshire

Using freebmd etc does not show that any children were born to them

Many Thanks CaroleW and sandra for the info. Does this means that it will be impossible to get in touch with his relatives??

Adrian

His parents, his sister and his widow are all deceased.  Neither John nor his sister had any children so you would be looking for ancestors of his parents or his wife.

As Edna left a will, you may want to consider downloading a copy to see if she names any beneficiaries who may have been related to her
