Problems with Family Search.
« on: Sunday 01 July 18 03:18 BST (UK) »
Hi,  I am having a problem with Family Search.  from their search page tried to search records,  I put in the deceased ancestors name, next tab down search with a life event, the birth tab is greyed out,  I can put in a place and a date,  none of the other tabs work although they are highlighted?  same as for all the other tabs, just does nothing at all??
I left them a message a few days ago no response yet.
Not sure if it is my computer settings that could be causing the problem?  I have never had any problems before though so don't know why it should be causing me grief now.
I have cleaned my cookies.
Thanks for any ideas

I sign in and fill in the search area with name, dob, pob  Come to tab "parents" and nothing happens.  Plus at the bottom it continually says "loading".

This has been happening for the last three days so far.

Looks like others have had problems with the Family Search website too.

What internet browser are you using?  They've recently upgraded the website again and even less works with Internet Explorer 11 so I've had to resort using Edge or Firefox.  May be worth trying a different browser even if you aren't using IE11.

I think it's because the site no longer supports Internet Explorer. There's been a warning message that features may not work for some time. A few days ago I found that search didn't work for me any more and I've had to use Google Chrome instead ( other browsers are available  ).

I`m having the same problem but don`t want to use Chrome as default on my PC.
Can I set it somehow just to be used on certain sites.

You can dip in and out of it as you wish.

I can't do my online banking under Chrome (it freezes),so have to revert back to Firefox just for the odd occasion.

I have each programme set on the taskbar at the bottom of my screen, and just open a different browser as and when I need to use it.

Maybe someone else will come along with a proper reply to your question, although I feel the answer will be no.
