Dent - place called Blaybeck?
« on: Wednesday 04 July 18 17:53 BST (UK) »
Has anyone come across a hamlet/farm called Blaybeck within the Chapelry of Dent near Sedburgh. I saw it today in the parish registers, but can't find it on any maps.

Thanks for any insight anyone can offer. :)

Hello,

Could this be a reference - page 8 scrolling down ‘What were the leasehold tenants rights?’

http://www.lunedaleheritage.org.uk/downloads/MickletonLease.pdf

They could winter their stock on the farm holds or on the common moors or wastes at Dovecragg (Dow Crag), Hagill (Hargill) beck and Bleybeck (Blea beck) and in the forest and chase of Lune in those parts where it had been accustomed‘.

On second thoughts may be not  ::) I had something else referenced but couldn’t find it and then saw this.
I will leave it though in case the spellings help.

Blea Beck, Dent - north of Hacra.
There is a photo - listed building 2010.

I found it on Old Maps site for Dent using post code for Dent Heritage Centre - LA10 5QJ on 1894 Yorkshire map if that helps  :-\
