I am looking for living relatives of Ian Douglas Crawford, Service Number 634710, Son of John and Jean Crawford, of Glasgow.

I am looking for them for information and photos for the monument we are planning to build in honour of the crew of the crashed bomber. Information about Crawford can be found here: https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2620176/crawford,-ian-douglas/

The website we made can be found here: https://davevancoolwijk.wixsite.com/halifaxmonument

Any help or information is more than welcome!

Kind regards,

David van Coolwijk

Hi David....Sorry I can't help as I don't have access to Scottish records, but this will bring your query back up the board. If you don't have any luck, then it would be worth asking a moderator to move it to the Scotland Research Boards.
There is also a Glasgow & West of Scotland Family History Society on Facebook.
Good Luck!

Hi David this is what I found when Phillipsearching asked beforehand
To start you off a possibility
Margaret Hamilton Crawford married Salathiel Hill she died in 1981 age 84 mother's MS Bell
John Crawford married a Jane Bell in Hamilton in 1893
No luck in finding births and at a guess the daughter Jeannie is Jane Bell Crawford but can't find a suitable birth or death to match her year of birth
Added there's a Janet Bell Crawford born 1898 in Hamiton
Added again Jeanie Buchannan Crawford b 1895 Hamilton

To added to this Margaret's death was registered in the Martha St area of Glasgow I'm not from Glasgow so don't know where this is exactly also unsure if any of his sisters had children

Scotlands BMD records are found on the Scotlands People website unfortunately for the years you are looking at for descendants these are not online but can be viewed in person in a few places

Sorry for the late reply, somehow i did not get a notification.

I heard that some of his family moved to Canada, Oyosoos, British Columbia. The Oyosoos Times are publishing an article in the newspaper in the folowing days. hopefully that will turn up something!
