Could anyone help to identify what this man is wearing please...I believe the photo to have been taken before 1902 as it is an undivided back postcard. Love the pointy shoes  ;D

Its a strange one if it's a military uniform, footwear is strange, cloak? is tied in a rough knot, and the spear/Lance? looks to be home made.  :-\

I tend to agree with you regarding it being a woman to be honest Carol, I was trying to see if a blouse of some description was visible under the cloak and jacket.

Certainly not a uniform, and the long blonde or grey hair doesn’t match the very dark beard. It looks as if whoever it is has quite a large ring on their left hand.
