Philip,  the Samuel Ethelred Perry Barden with mother Julia and stepfather as William West died in June 1971 at Northampton age 83. He checks out in 1891, 1901, 1911 census and 1939 register.

So he can definitely be discounted.

Good luck with your project.

Unless you are keen to get an exact date of enlistment, an approximation within a month can be obtained by using the war gratuity information on the Effects Register and the spendid war gratuity calculator produced by a member of a more specialised forum currently available to all at https://wargratuity.wordpress.com/

For your men:
Lord joined Sep 1914
Brewer Aug 1915
Morris Aug 1914

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Many thanks to all responders.

The proved information is being added to the Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Memorial page on http://www.roll-of-honour.com/.

I hope that biographical details of all the local 1914-18 Fallen can be found and added before 11 November 2018, so there is still much to do.

Now I'm off to try to find local newspapers from 1914-18.

Philip
