Also this is my great grandma's birth certificate with Sarah Ann as mother, she was born at 56 Herbart St.  One section says X the mark of Sarah Ann Turner present at the birth 56 Herbart St (it was on a torn crease and I hadn't looked properly before but this must have been her Mum!

That is good as it ties in with all of the other information.

I have a family on 1911 census, Father states how many children they'd had and live/died section OK against his wife's name then named every child, their ages and the deaths. The married girls were in their maiden name but married in the box.

There was only the husband and wife living at the house, all their children were grown up, married and living elsewhere in the district. A red line was put through the children.

That sounds like a really useful census entry, full of information, it is also useful to know that people did this as your examples explains what might have happened in some of my families entries. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Em

Oh my, Florence's birth cert has suffered somewhat hasn't it!  I assume that it is the original certificate that was issued at the time of her birth.

You may like to consider getting another certificate if only to have clarity on all parts.  I hope I have found the correct entry from the GRO website:-

MYERS, FLORENCE  MAUD     TURNER
GRO Reference: 1900  J Quarter in WOLVERHAMPTON  Volume 06B  Page 625

You have the option of a pdf at £6 or a certificate at £9.25.  Up to you of course as to whether you wish to obtain a cert.

It has seen better days hasn't it!!! Yes it is the original certificate and unfortunately someone at somepoint stuck it all together with sellotape which has gone brown!! It was all folded up with her other certificates in a battered old envelope. I am currently storing it laid out and flat in acid free paper. I will definitely order a fresh one, thanks for the suggestion, it will make it easier to read :)

As Rosie99 has discovered David & Margaret are a different family.
She's probably the Sarah Ann Neal b.28/10/1846 B'ham, parents James & Mary Ann.
1861:
RG 9; Piece: 2132; Folio: 139; Page: 20

Thank you for this information. I can't seem to find the 1861 census for Sarah Ann Neal, I am using ancestry and I can't (or haven't worked out) how to search with the piece/folio/pg. I have found the 1851 census with Sarah Neal b 1849, Mother Ann, father James - but this seems to be the wrong year.
I have also found the following births in Birmingham on gro.gov.uk:
NEAL, SARAH    mdn   SQUELCH
GRO Reference: 1846  J Quarter in BIRMINGHAM  Volume 16  Page 268

NEAL, SARAH   mdn    MAYES
GRO Reference: 1846  D Quarter in BIRMINGHAM  Volume 16  Page 324

NEAL, SARAH  ANN  mdn   EVANS
GRO Reference: 1848  M Quarter in BIRMINGHAM  Volume 16  Page 384.

I also found an unmarried Sarah Ann Neal in the 1871 census (family search - GBC/1871/3095/0102) living with her Mother Mary Ann but this can't be the same one as my Sarah Ann Neal married in 1866.

Please can you tell me where to search for RG 9; Piece: 2132; Folio: 139; Page: 20 so that I can get the right details for the mother (I don't want to make the same mistake that I did with David Turner and Margaret Love!!!

Best wishes,
Emma

I'm crossing my fingers that this link works for you

https://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8767

scroll down and you will see the sections for piece, folio and page number.

I got to this by going through the Card Catalogue.
