Pieter Tjallewal
« on: Saturday 07 July 18 11:08 BST (UK) »
Pieter was born 13 oktober 1876,  Heerhugowaard, ALKMAAR,  HOLLAND.
Pieter was the only son of Lambertus Tjallewal and Bregtje Rol.  The story goes, that Pieter was on the boat
DOMINION, to CANADA.   age 32  [ I found him on the passengers-list ] destination Missoula-Montana.
He was  with a friend, E.E. QUAK  ??  also a DUTCH person.
The family never had any letter or contact from Pieter, the story goes that they asked interpoll for a search,
but did not find  him.   Pieter could be envolved with a car accident and he died ? but it is not sure.

The last adres from Pieter is 1920, in a lodgin of Nicolas Vergeas, District 21 San Francisco, California. USA.
The name was written, Pete Tjalliwal, age 43,   [ single ]   lodger,   DUTCH, occupation,   Milker, Dairyworker.
I found this information,  on Family-search.

How can I find the information, about  his life, there was no contact at all with Dutch relatives,

regards,
Rita de Graaf de Jong

Pieter Tjallewal arrived 1910 Halifax, Canada, his destination was at that time, Missoula, Montana. His age was 32,
In 1920, Pieter [ Pete Tjalliwal ]  was lodgin in  San Francisco, California.  [ info, united states cencus, 1920 ]
It is  same person you have found, it seems he went back to Holland and to USA again.

 - here's the passenger list (he was 37, not 40, on this version)
It does appear to be the same man - he lists his brother in law Vries as next of kin at home.

 - San Francisco directories are online but I didn't see him there in 1920/1 (perhaps because he was just passing through).

Yes it is the same person,  I think too that he was passing through, because of the stay in the lodging house ? You know how to search for the information of his death ? I have no idea if he was married or stayed single. Or what age he have died, place etc.
