Fold3 free trial cancellation

I took out a 7 day free trial with fold3 on Jul 6 to look for 3 specific forebears; this expires on Jul 13 but I can see no way to cancel the subscription - can anyone help please?

I find so many sites make it very difficult to be able to cancel, hidden away in corners, not clear & I'd say it's deliberate.

It should be a prominent feature, easily accessible when you do sign up!

The page Rosie kindly suggested 'Managing your account' (bottom left of page)' is not too helpful regarding being clear i.e. Cancel Membership or such like?

I had a look to see what the options were on the page;

"Go to your Account Details when you need to:

Change your member name, password or email address
Change your membership settings (maybe this)?
Update billing information
Change communication settings
Update the content of your Profile page"

Josey, can you let us know what the procedure is please when you do find out? 

This kind of thing has put me & probably 1000s of others off taking out free/short & long term subs as cancelling isn't made easy.

They make it so hard to cancel so that you'll give up and keep on with the membership.

Many people are asking how to cancel on their Facebook page,their response is......Please email us at support@fold3.com and we will cancel your account.

Josey, can you let us know what the procedure is please when you do find out? 

I will. I have emailed them but no reply yet.

LATER: Found it in 'Account Details'; where it says 'Cancel your free trial before ...' the first four words are a link. You have to cancel there & then but do get access till the end of the 7 days. Then free access as 'Free basic member' as they keep your member name, passowrd & account will be kept open.

I assumed that as it was part of Ancestry that you would cancel it in much the same way.  I have not signed up to it as most of the English records they have are already on F M P

I cancel any subs as soon as I sign up as there's a chance of forgetting but like yours Josey, I still have my usage time even if it's for 1 yr, it just means it won't automatically be deducted from your card.

I see the wording they're using when cancelling is to confuse people i.e. having them believe they won't have their full 7 days if they cancel there & then prior to letting you know when you do cancel you still have your free trial access until it runs out

What a palaver when it could be made possible to cancel on the same site you joined rather than having to then do a seperate email...just crazy!
