LMA - Nursing Records

My aunt, Ethel Irene Primrose Garrad (1908-1970) was a nurse all her working life - largely in Mental Hospitals.

In the 1940 Register of Nurses, she shows as being trained at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, from 1936 to 1939.
On the 1939 National Register, she is a Nurse at Erdington House, Birmingham.

On the 1953 & 1954 Electoral Registers, she is at Tooting Bec Hospital, Tooting Bec Road, London SW17.

In later years, I can remember visiting her in London - somewhere to the south of Cromwell Road? (I was a young teenager; I don't remember exactly! )

She later became Matron at Oakwood Hospital, Barming Heath near Maidstone.


Having failed to get much information out of either Oakwood Hospital or the Royal College of Nursing, can anyone tell me what (if anything) I can expect from London Metropolitan Archives?

AJ was my grandfather; Florence his first wife (who died when Rene was born).
Ethel Irene Primrose was always known in the family as Rene

The family connections I know all about - it's her Nursing History that evades me at the moment.
