High Church Cemetery
« on: Monday 09 July 18 14:22 BST (UK) »
Hi.  I'm after some advice/help.  My husband's great, great grandfather died in 1859 and his death certificate says he was buried at High Church Cemetery presumably in Glasgow.  Can anyone please give directon as to where this may be as we have scrolled through various cemetery records and turned up nothing.  He lived in John Street (now known as Tullis Street).  I would desperately love to locate his burial place so that we can pay our respects before returnng to Melbourne, Australia.

I think it maybe under the Glasgow Cathedral,
Alternative names were.....

Barony Kirk;
High Church;
St Mungo's

 I have family buried in the High Church Cemetery.The High Church is now used by the university as a social club.It's very near the Cathedral.I don't know what's happened to the graveyard it had.
 I have a lot of family who died in the area of Duke Street and some say High Church on the death record but I wonder if they were buried in the Eastern Necropolis.
 What do others think?

The High Church is the correct name for Glasgow Cathedral and the attached cemetery was the High Church Burial Ground.
