For anyone trying to help - it looks like the family moved to Monmouthshire - there was another son born in Preston - Frederick James baptised in 1901.

Any subsequent marriage for William may therefore have been in Wales, where his mother came from originally.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Yes -- he was 20 so the correct age. According to Lancs BMD that was in the Longton sub-district.

One of his brothers, James C Dickinson was still in Wales in 1939 though. There is also a William Dickinson, born 1903 in Wales in 1939 --- but birth date is at the end of that year, so I don't think it's the correct William.

Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

William is still alive in 1939 living with his widowed mother and one of his brothers in Wales.

He has been transcribed in 1939 as Williams Dickenson. At that point he is single and a Bookbinder (as his father had been).

Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
