There is an on-line tree which gives a Mary Elliott arriving for Ireland in Nov 1844, but, as it's not an unusual name I don't see that it is necessarily the person who married Henry HINSON.

You could order one of the children's birth certificates which should give the following information:
Births
 Date and place of birth;
 name of child and whether present or not;
 name of parents (including mother's maiden name);
 occupation of parents;
 ages and birthplace of parents;
 date and place of marriage of parents;
 previous children of their marriage noting living or deceased;
 signature, description and address of the person who gave the information;
 names of witnesses;
 date and place of registration.

This costs $AU24.50 and is an image of the actual register.  The Victorian BMD index says that Henry's parents are unknown while the index entry for Mary gives her father as William Elliott, so it would seem that buying the death certificates for either of them may have minimal information, but a birth cert should give info for both parents.

Hi

The Argus Thu 19 May 1853.

MANTLES.-Mrs. Hinson,
Mantle Maker, Stanley Street, Collingwood, from Berkeley-Street, West-end, London,has now on hand forty or fifty patterns,genuine, models, from which orders are solicited.

Does this throw into question her Irish origins?

FindMyPast parish baptisms (transcriptions)

Sophia Hinson, born 24 Nov 1817, bap 24 Nov 1817, abode Castle St, place of baptism St. Giles, Cambridge, parents John and Catherine, father's occpn "Taylor"

Henry Hinson, born 24 Nov 1817, bap 24 Nov 1817, abode Castle St, place of baptism St Giles, Cambridge, parents John and Catherine, father's occpn "Taylor"

The name Hinson closely associated with tailoring and the drapery business in Cambridge in the early 19th Century (couple of items in the Cambridge newspapers of the time)

Yes, that certainly discounts Irish origins! And yes, Sophia Hinson is my ancestor and Henry's twin sister - whether or not my Henry and this Henry are one and the same is unclear.

There's a Henry Hinson, possibly the draper (from his Collingwood address), who dies in 1856 and possibly his wife Catherine who dies in 1859

However, that means that the article about Mrs. Hinson may be referring to this Catherine Hinson.
