Wade, Beatrice Eva
« on: Friday 13 July 18 04:36 BST (UK) »
I am looking for my grandmother's parents. Her maiden name was WADE, Beatrice Eva. She was born in South Africa (probably Durban, in Natal) but her parents came from England, Essex (I think, not sure).
I would appreciate any information.
Dennis

Do you know her date of birth. We need a starting point for research.

Welcome to rootschat, Dennis.

This is from a tree on Ancestry, and this Beatrice has a son-in-law with the surname Ralph, so the  correct family?

'Beatrice Wade was born on 7 September 1891 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She had one daughter in 1924.'

Hello Dennis and welcome to rootschat.

There is a probate for Walter Bernard WADE who died in Durban in 1945. He was born "near Birmingham" and his wife Esther Ellen was "born Wareham" and died 1916. One of his children was Beatrice Mary HULETT (nee WADE) who was born in 1911. Does this sound like a possibility?

Beatrice Wade was born on 7 September 1891 in Durban South Africa. I do have a copy of an abridged version of her birth certificate which does not have parents’ names.
Thanks everyone for helping.

Thanks for that, Dennis.  So I was on the wrong track  :-[

Added:  Can you obtain a copy of Beatrice's full birth certificate?  That might be the best way forward.

Will try to get a full birth certificate, but don't have much hope as Home Affairs Dept in South Africa can be very slow.
Thanks for your help anyway.

But it must be worth a try - after all, if you don't ask the question you won't get an answer  ;)

Good luck
