Unknown Services?
« on: Friday 13 July 18 09:47 BST (UK) »
Hi All.
This photo has been found in my grandmothers belongings but we have no idea who he is. Is anyone able to identify the uniform he is wearing and a date? This might help us give him a name.

Thank you.

The crossed flag badge indicates a signaller. I can't make out the bar (shoulder title) on the epaulette, this indicates the regiment.

Period looks like WW1, or at least early 20th century.

I'd suggest later than WW1.  The uniform is a battledress blouse of WW2, 1937 onwards.  The photographer has managed to successfully hide both the shoulder title and the upper sleeve badges!Signaller but not in the Royal Signals.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

Can you make out the name of the photographer embossed or printed bottom right?
Photo taken in Lowestoft ?
Might help with dating too.

Looby :)

Looking again I would agree post WW1, given that the tunic has a fly front although at first glance I wouldn't associate the metal shoulder title with WW2.
