Riviera Terrace Exminster
« on: Friday 13 July 18 10:57 BST (UK) »
Good Morning All,

Wonder if anyone could help me please. I have a death certificate for a Bristol man who died at the above address 19th Sept 1941. George Vowles had lived around the Bristol area for most of his life was still there 1939 so no idea how he came to be in Devon when he was seriously ill.

Any suggestions please of where he could be buried in Exminster?

Thanks

Was he an elderly single man?  Maybe he had recently retired there or went there for health reasons  :-\

There was also a war going on. Perhaps he thought Exminster was safer than Bristol.

Hi Both,

Married with adult children, may have been due to his illness or indeed the war. He was terminally ill.

Hi
FindMyPast 1939 register address search has 16 entries for Riviera Terrace. 1 of them, #7, is a vacant house. but the names of the residents in the others might possibly point you towards a relative/in-law
Malmesbury- Bishop.

Worcestershire-Stinton.

Many thanks , I researched the family at No 1 can see no connection. If I can discover where Geroge is buried and with whom it may solve the mystery
