What was Susanna's maiden name
« on: Saturday 14 July 18 06:04 BST (UK) »
Thomas COUSINS/COUZENS of Harston married Susanna.  Their daughter Amy/Amma was baptised 27 Aug 1813.

Any ideas as to Susanna's maiden name please?

What was the spelling of Thomas' surname on the baptism of the daughter?

I can't readily see a marriage for Thomas Couzens/Cousins and Susannah.  There is another daughter, Louisa, baptised at Hareston 17 August 1815.  Thomas is a Labourer.

Possibility that Susannah's maiden name was Thurston - there is a baptism at Hethersett in Norfolk -

Harriot, daughter of Thomas and Susan Couzens (late Thurston) - 19 June 1804.

Amy's father Thomas COUSINS/COUZENS was 73 in the 1861 census making a birth around 1788.

Just looked for a female born about 1780 - 1790 at Harston and Susanna ARNOLD was baptised 08 Apr 1779.  She seems to be the only Susanna in Harston around that time which seems strange as the name is common ???

Thoughts??

I think the Norfolk connection is a red herring.  Just found a later baptism at Hethersett, and Thomas Cousins is a Shoemaker.  Sorry for any confusion  :'(

No worries at all BumbleB.

It seems Susanna COUSINS wife of Thomas and mother of Amy & Louisa was buried 31 Jul 1822 aged 36.  Thus a birth about 1786.

Which possibly leaves Susanna ARNOLD out of contention???
