Trying to connect a burial with a birth - Sponsford

I am trying to trace a Harry W L Sponsford born 13 Nov 1916 Southwark, Surrey. In 1939 he shows as Harry W Sponsford with parents. I can not find a marriage or death in England however a burial in India is a possible.

Private Harry William Sponsford died 2 Nov 1941.DOB unknown. Royal Army Ordanace Corps.
Is it possible to find additional info re Private Sponsford?

I think it has to be him with that combination of names - no other births around the same time

Son of Burwood and Florence Mary Sponsford, of Bridport, Dorsetshire. Not in the same place as in 1939 but the names look very similar!

His father re-married to Gwendoline Clarke in 1959

BELSHAZZA B  SPONSFORD was born in 1893 in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, which is perhaps why they returned there during the war - safer than staying in London.

Can't have been a ship going down as Jubbulpore, Bengal ( now called Jabalpur) is in the middle of India.
