Witness to the above marriage of William was Richard Shorten
now a Richard Shorten a warder in Spike Island,Prison son of Benjamin married Mary Good
1871 his witness was James Shorten
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1871/11357/8169159.pdf

his daughter Lizzie married a solicitor in 1907 named Aubrey Evans O'Callaghan
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1907/10111/5678687.pdf

1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cork/Brinny/Rockford/1089133/

strangely Aubrey managed to fill out 2 census returns in the same day for 2 different addresses
1911 at his mother in laws
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cork/Brinny/Rockfort/373290/

and most likely at his own home with his father in law
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cork/Watergrasshill/Scartbarry/415115/

point being when Margaret Shorten widow of James died in 1927 there was Probate of her will granted to Aubrey E O'Callaghan, executer
