WW1 government records; detailed records of soldiers' service
« on: Sunday 15 July 18 19:10 BST (UK) »
3 weeks ago I found service records in triplicate for the inglorious military career of Frank Wilson Clarke, pte 464653  in the CEF - over 30 pages replicated twice. I was using a cpmputer in France and I live in England. Sure it would be easy to access them again, I did not reference them; transcriptions are in France 1000 miles away! I have spent 3 hours today, searching in vain. I can find only 2 pages of attestation (correct), but there was page after page (most of it in hospitals dealing with pre-exiting conditions). If any kind soul could send me a link, I'd be so grateful. I do not transcribe to Ancestry or Findmypast worldwide. But these were free online.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for trying ut I need the one that's hiding![/i][/i]

Unclear what that last bit means?  You seem to have found his top level record with the 2 attestation pages and then the 70 odd pages of his complete record.  What else is it you are looking for?

PS  iluleah's post totally foxes me!  Is it related to Jacqueline's or am I missing something obvious.
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

Max, half of my last reply went off half baked, hence your puzzlement. Not sure if iluleah's offering is relevant  yet but it would clearly be interesting to WW1 buffs and I don't like to be churlish when people take trouble. Sandra got it in2, so I'm happy. Still not sure what site it's on, though!
