« on: Sunday 15 July 18 22:20 BST (UK) »
Greeting,

I am in need of some assistance to find the parents of Christopher Lapota (Laporte). He was born 6 Nov 1881 in Italy and immigrated to Baltimore in 1911 and is believed to have passed away in 1943. He was also married to Josephine Sigeno (Sgroi) who was born Aug 1889 in Italy thanks in advance.

I’m not sure whether you’d already narrowed down their original area, but the 2 immigration documents seem to mention that they are from Valguarnera.
There is one Valguarnera in Caltanissetta and one in Enna (could they be the same place?). Both provinces are in Sicily

Strangely Josephine/Giuseppa’s surname is Igros on her husband’s immigration doco ie. Nearly a mirror image of what you’ve mentioned (something got last in translation at some stage, but when?)

Just realised that Christopher's immigration doco mentions Caltanissetta.

Christopher's birth year was most likely 1880!
His 1880 baptism (top left): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DTLQ-YW7?i=191&cat=1546862

You didn't ask for the following, but this is the 1879 baptism of Josephine.

And the 1904 marriage of the couple:

Thank you for all your your help. Can you by chance make any recommendations on how to search further into Italy ancestry so that i can continue going back further with that line with Christophers parents. I know family search is a great resource, thanks in advance.

I'll give you one more. I'm not great re old handwriting, but I think that this is the church marriage of the parents: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-XHL9-B6Y?i=167&cat=1546862 (bottom right). It also mentions their parents (i.e. Christopher's grandparents).

These people seem to stay in the same place so you can just continue to search in the parish records of this series i.e. "Italia, Enna, Valguarnera Caropepe"(Parrocchia Santo Cristoforo).

The civil records might have more info and might be easier to work with. Unfortunately they are not  freely available but can be viewed in an FS centre.
