Something to ponder...

GRO Birth Reg:
WILLIAMS, ANNE    mmn =   RUBBERTHAN  Q1 1841 ATCHAM 18, 10
WILLIAMS, ELIZA    mmn = RUBBERTHAN Q3 1842 ATCHAM 18, 8

Not found a marriage yet, though Mary could have been a widow...

Thanks Geoff

Is this in fact showing that Rubberthan was one of the parents?   I have a separate post on this site asking for information about the Rubbathans from 1725?

Any ideas forward gratfully received

best wishes Bronwen, NZ

Hi Bronwen

It looks like it [one of the parents].

Haven't seen the other post yet...

Trying to get Mary's maiden name seemed to make sense by using the girl's birth reg., then hopefully the marriage details.

Have checked other sites and the Shropshire Marriage Index, no luck yet.

Noticing the variant name I've rechecked the Shropshire Marriage Index and there is a marriage for an Edward Rubbathan 1836, I'll put it on your other post as it may get confusing.

You may need to rethink your strategy for your 2 threads, there appears to be common ground between the two of them.

Many thanks to you both.

I do have a copy of the registration (photocopy of the actual original register) of Anne Williams Feb 21 1841 daughter of Thomas and Mary Williams in Cantlop - see attached.

Thanks Bronwen

I'm not sure how Edward fits in with your family if at all, his marriage is now on your other thread.

Oh dear when I saw the Rubbathan post I thought that is odd - anyway some how or other I have led you and me up the garden path - I had them on my spreadsheet twice.  Here they are - altho I am not sure how these ones fit in:
1831 John Williams
1836 Jan 3 Williams – male, Berrington, Shropshire, Eng.
1837 Thomas Williams,
