Enquiry for WJ Threadwell of Barking School of Photography
« on: Monday 16 July 18 11:31 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find any info on William James Threadwell (21 Nov 1844 in Shoreditch, Middlesex - 1923 in West Ham, Essex). He was a Drawing Instrument Maker/Opitican married to Mary Ann Giles.
There is a trade card which credits him as operating the "Barking School of Photography, High Street Barking" (unkown date).
I can find no record of him having been a photographer and would appreciate any assistance in confirming him operating from these premises.

Photography seems to have been a competitive and dangerous business for Mr Threadwell. These items are from the Southend Standard and Essex Weekly Advertiser of 29 July 1881:

Thanks for newspaper cuttings they are very helpful. Re the link to Barking, I have already been in touch and they don't have any further details.

I know his brother George was a Photographer in Stratford, but am trying to confirm 'Barking School of Photography'.
