Ethel and John Holdsworth

Would like to trace Ethel and John if possible. Info I have is partly official and partly family lore.
Ethel Lowery was born 17 Nov 1910 Lincoln, England. John's birth unknown. They married in 1940 in Lincoln and abt 1967/68 moved to Scotland and eventually made their way to Islay. Evidently John(Jack) was a Clerk of Works(?) and Ethel attended church in Bowmore. No one knows when Ethel died but John may have died in 2012. This info came to me through a couple of people so may have lost something in translation.
Did they go to Islay and if so is there a death record that I can get? John's age at death may help me find his birth. Ethel is a 4th cousin so pretty far out on the branch

According to the index at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk Ethel Holdsworth or Lowery died in Islay in 1974 age 64. Her mother’s maiden name was Grant. You can order her death certificate via Scotlandspeople if you want further details.

A John Francis Holdsworth died on Islay in 2011 age 95. Not a common name on Islay so likely yo be him. Mother’s maiden name Charwood. Looks as if John remarried on Islay in 1976 to Ann McCalman Fraser nee Shaw. She died on Islay in 1995 age 88. Annie was previously married ( in 1933) to Ian Cameron Fraser and they had a son Duncan McConnell Fraser who appears to have taken the name Holdsworth. He died on Islay in 2017.
