Burial in Halifax
« on: Wednesday 18 July 18 13:15 BST (UK) »
Hello
I have a burial register entry for Mary Holroyd 1866. It states abode as Fixby and has v34 in the margin which i presume is burial plot.
Her husband John is in same register in1861 abode Elland and again v34.
The register is for Halifax and  chaplery of Rastrick .
Is there a way to find out which cemetary they may be in.
Thanks lee

You can find this out with the Calderdale FHS transcription index - on their website at https://www.cfhsweb.com/
(Look in the menu under Research.)

It looks as though they were both buried in the churchyard at St Matthew's, Rastrick.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

I would agree with arthurk - buried in the churchyard at St Matthew, Rastrick.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
