On the birth record for George Sinclair as posted by Isobel reply 5 his mother
Elizabeth Sinclair is noted as dau of a seaman

If this is the same Elizabeth Hall/Margaret Sinclair as per 1901 census below
living Wick Caithness in 1861 her father George’s occ Ag Labourer

we have looked on ancestry that's where we got most of our info

thank you everyone for their replies.thank you Forfarin for the warning I have read the post, we were beginning to think George juniors parents didn't get married as we cannot find any record of the marriage, but his name was George Sinclair Hall so maybe the marriage took place later or he was just given his fathers nme. although his sister Barbara was born first and she was Barbara Hall.
yes George junior did die in Manchester and he did marry Alice Whaite and they had a son John.
we do not know  George seniors occupation for sure but think he could have been a collier and we do not know when he died. thanks again for all the replies.

The birthdate of George S Hall in the 1939 register ( with wife Alice F)  matches that on the 1970 death of George Sinclair Hall found by Ladyhawk and also the date on the 1886 Dalmeny birth certificate for George Sinclair.
