Sarah Russell (born: July 1925) Belfast area
« on: Wednesday 18 July 18 19:29 BST (UK) »
Sarah, was the daughter of Henry Russell and Letitia Trelford. I don't think she had any siblings, though one of her mothers sisters, ie: Margaret Trelford married  a  Robert Russell, and had three children:  Thomas,  David and Margaret  (all born between 1917-25).

I know that Sarah was living in Oct 2007, when she posted a blog on another website regarding the background of the Trelford family who lived in the Drumbeg area, County Antrim. As I am distantly connected, I was hoping that someone might know what happened her, and possibly the sources of the info which she mentioned in her blog. If anyone can help me, please get in touch.

If she was born in 1925 she could still be alive. If that's the case perhaps she's in a nursing home and/or not online anymore.

Yes, that is possible. The question remains though, from where did she obtain the information given on her post? For example, she mentions a James Trelford (born 1720) and the names of two likely brothers. I have looked at the baptismal records of Drumbeg Parish Church, which seems to be the family burying ground, though the records don't cover that period. Sarah's post states that James Trelford (b:1720) was married and had 5 children, his brother, Wm was married and had one daughter, and the other brother, John was married with 6 children. My problem is, who is the father of William Trelford (1782-1838), James or John?

For reference, here's a link to Trelford blog- there is one comment to that post from a person I believe is a Coates descendant- have you tried contacting him yet?

Sarah Russell is my sister but she died in 2012 and I think you must not have realized she had a sister and that I posted the blog.  There is 16 years difference between us.  My father was Harry Russell, not Henry, and my mother was Letitia Trelford.  My mother and her sister Margaret both married men called Russell, who were not related.

Do you happen to know where the Trelfords came from.  The first I know of them is James Trelford married to Anne Coates in 1744.  This was in St. Anne's Cathedral records.  I have been in touch with someone but his Trelfords came from Clifden.

Marriage gives his name as Henry not Harry-

My father was Harry Russell, not Henry.

The names Henry & Harry are interchangeable, in Britain & Ireland anyway. Prince Harry, married to Meghan, is actually Henry Charles Albert David on his birth certificate.  There are many other similar examples eg Agnes & Ann, Sarah & Sally, John & Jack, Peggy & Margaret.
