Actually might hang fire there as there is another possible marriage so will have a look 1901 in case I can find a needle maker called Arthur looking at another marriage with a better fit!

Have you got deaths for Susan and hubbie?

There's something very odd going on with this family. ???

I was looking for marriages for the boys and found one that certainly looks like George Harry. He's 21 a slater father is John SMITH a finisher. Marries Ada WARNER Aug 6 1902.
His address is listed as 84 Archdeacon Lane.

This family is living at 84 Archdeacon Lane in 1901:

?? Did someone fill out the form wrong and get everyone's name and relationship confused?

On to Richard SMITH's marriage....Dec 27 1909 age 24 a shoe laster of 100 Dunton Street-father John SMITH (deceased) a shoe finisher marries Annie Sturman.

I have to be careful with the 1911,I know.....

SMITH, MARY  ANN     mmn HURST

I don't know what to think!!

OK-now they are just making stuff up!

Matilda SMITH age 20 of 100 Dunton Street marries Joseph Ernest EATWELL Aug 3 1912.

She lists her father as William Fletcher SMITH a slater.

Witnesses are William Fletcher SMITH (although it looks as though the SMITH was added later in red ink) and Mary Ann SMITH.

I’m even more confused now,the George Harry and ada Warner marriage I can confirm as I have that in my tree, the Names business is very strange,I wonder if “John” smith died and Susan remarried to William Fletcher and the kids took his name?would that be plausible?

I have no idea either!

It gets even worse as Matilda re-marries in 1921 to an Alfred GRANT. Both of 100 Dunton Street.

This time she lists her father as William CHADWICK (deceased) a slater.

My mind is officially boggled. ::) ::)

Sorry!!!
