Passenger lists not on Ancestry/FindMyPast/FamilySearch?1853-1858

I have a newspaper article documenting a Daniel Christian born about 1833 coming to Australia for 4 1/2 years for the Gold Rush At Bendigo, Spring Gully and Iron Bark. He was from the Isle of Man and came with fellow countrymen, however he returned home in May 1858.
I can't seem to find any record of his shipping either way?

There are no passenger lists from the British Board of Trade before 1890

The earlier lists were all destroyed, I believe?

So, you need to look at the Australian end.
