Just prior to WW1, so around 1912-14.

This may have been taken to give to the husband/father as he was going to war.

Do you think there is any relevance to the scroll one of the ladies is holding?
Also I noticed that one of the ladies is wearing what looks like a wedding ring but on the wrong hand. Do you think the photo may have been printed the wrong way round?

I noticed the ring too but as their bodices are fastened the correct side it's definitely on her right hand.
There is significance in the scroll or why take it but I suppose we'll never know what it is.

I couldn't tell with the bodices but knew you would know.
If only we could go back in time and ask but you are right we probably will never know.

There may be practical reasons for her wedding ring being on her right hand. She may have had a job where she's using mainly her left hand & didn't want it damaged.
Maybe mom has taken a course in something & received certificate for it.
