1841 - Holmfirth - HO107/1277/11 folio 13, page 18
James Thewlis - 35 - Plumber and Glazier
Sarah - 25  is this where 1816 birth year comes from?
Amelia - 13
Elizabeth - 7

The Enumerator has altered Amelia's age from 11 to 13 and Elizabeth's from 5 to 7

1861 - RG9/3250 folio 135 page 30
James Thewlis - 53 - Plumber and Glazier
Sarah - 52
James S - 14
Sarah Battye - 11 - grandaughter

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Amelia Thewlis married Joshua Battye at All Hallows, Kirkburton on 9 July 1846.

Both are minors and from Holmfirth - Joshua is a Tailor, father = Thomas, Farmer.  Amelia's father = James, Plumber

The birth year for Sarah Senior is very misleading when she married in 1826 she wouldn't have been born in 1816.
Regards Carolanne

I think I must be suffering from some kind of genealogy overload. I saw your post and thought:
"How'd the heck did I miss that???"

Thank you for the heads up on the date, I now have the correct dates for her and boy has it made a difference!!

As previously suggested there were two women having children at the same time, I now know that Sarah Ann is not the woman I'm looking for and that the person I'm researching is just a straight Sarah:)

Thanks again, everyone.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
