Essex marriage 1937
« on: Saturday 21 July 18 15:32 BST (UK) »
Trying to find which church Arthur Adsley and Emily Taylor were married in in 1937, Essex.
I have found Arthur on the 1939 register with wife Emily. Also found married for them in 1937, but dont know where they married.
Arthur was a widower, he was born in 1869 and his father was Henry Adsley, who was a gardener (dec).
I dont know anything about Emily Taylor, I didnt even know Arthur had remarried until I saw 1939 register.
Hope maybe someone can help,
Thanks

I think you may have to purchase the actual  m/c to find Church name, that should also give you Emily fathers name. She may also have been widowed

Have you checked if there are any clues as to Emily's previous life on the 1939 - Children from a previous marriage living with the couple for instance.

The page range for this quarter is 2659-2965. The entry you are interested in is 2850, towards the top end of the range.

Traditionally/historically the numbers at the start of the range are Anglican churches, then Jewish, Quaker, other denominations then registrar attended and register office.

Then you have to factor in the areas in the registration district

You have to buy the cert to be sure but I would suggest this may be a register office wedding.
