Thank you very much again, Mabel Bagshawe. The RootsChat Marquessate indeed! A great find. And thank you very, very much Brentor Boy for your three previous posts. I'm new to all this and it's really touching to hear these little details from my family history.

Just read the Beginner's guide on Rootschat (thank you Berlin-Bob) and I'm a bit nervous about diving into old Parish records.

I'm so busy it's hard for me even to start the FreeBMD stuff, but I did manage to check the "Marriage, Dece, ber qtr 1908 Bangor Registration District vol 11b, page 848" posted by KGarrad and I'm wondering what I do next?

Do I contact TNA and order the marriage certificate?

Thanks.

TNA don't have any certificates ;D

You need to contact the GRO - www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates.
You'll need to register.
Certificates cost £9.25, including post & package.

(For Births and Deaths, it is possible to get a PDF copy for just £6.)

1939 Register has Rowland Pritchard (b1880) with Margaret J Pritchard (b1880) and Robert H Pritchard (b1910) plus 3 more people, but no Ann/Annie.

Hello again KGarrad.

I've ordered the marriage certificate of my GGparents.

I'm wondering what this Register is and how to view it. Which site should I use for seeing that?

GRO? FREEBMD?

Thanks

The 1939 National Register was originally used for the issue of Identity Cards at the outbreak of war, and later for th issue of Ration Books.

It was later taken on by the NHS as the basis for it's National Register, and kept updated until the 1990's.

Available on both Ancestry and FindMyPast.
