Pritchard, Griffith, Williams

Hello.

I'm completely new to searching for ancestry, but I've long wanted to know my roots.

Mr great grandfather was Rowland Pritchard, a slate Quarryman of Bethesda, and he married a Margaret Jane Griffith, whose brother (I think) was Hugh Griffith who was Chief Smith or Goldsmith of then Lord Penrhyn.

My grandfather was Robert Hugh Pritchard, who married an Anne Catherine Williams, sister of Emyr Williams, who descended from an Owen Owen Williams. Robert and Anne moved from Bethesda to Bangor (where my father and uncle were born) and then settled in Aberconwy.

So there are 3 families I'm interested in: Pritchard, Griffith, and Williams, and I'd like to go as far back as I can go.

Would appreciate any help I could get, both in terms of information and direction.

This site looks really encouraging. Could never bring myself to start a search on another site, but after I discovered rootchat I though I'd give it a go.

In 1911 Rowland and Maggie living with her father, Hugh Griffith, and their son ,  Robert Hugh. Maggie named as Margaret Jane, b c 1881, Bethesda.

Perhaps not yours.

In 1901 Rowland Pritchard, b c 1884, Bethesda. Quarry man. Living with widowed mother, Elizabeth, in Bethesda

In 1891 Rowland, age 6, living with mother, Elizabeth, (Head), brother Daniel and sister Jane Ellen in Clanyrafon,  Llanllechid, Bethesda.

In 1881, Jane Ellen Pritchard and William John Pritchard ( Rowland's siblings in 1891) living with parents, John  and Eliza, in 49 Cilofdau Street, Llanllechid.

John Pritchard quarryman.

Possible death June quarter 1884, Bangor. John Pritchard, age 28

Wow, thank you for the replies. Yes, I forgot to put dates. Have to find the exact details, but for now I can say,

Robert Hugh Pritchard was born 27th November 1910 in Bethesda, and passed away in 2003 I think.

Anne Catherine Pritchard nee Williams was born 7th of March 1911, and passed away in 2007.

Also, I'm pretty sure they married before the war, so not 1944.

Tried to attach my grandfather's birth  certificate but I have to reduce the file size. Will do so asap but on my phone atm.

I can't see any other marriage that fits, on FreeBMD?
So I still think that 1944 marriage is the correct one?

1939 Register has Rowland Pritchard (b1880) with Margaret J Pritchard (b1880) and Robert H Pritchard (b1910) plus 3 more people, but no Ann/Annie.

Thanks. I'd certainly be surprised if that wasn't their marriage, but I'd always thought they married before the war in Bethesda. Trying to contact and hear from relatives. Think they're digging through boxes atm.
