Re replies #20 & 21 concerning the Arthur Curwood who died in 1963. It might pay to contact the cemetery to see if they hold any further information about this man............

He was a retired boundary rider!

Had a reply: Unfortunately, we do not have much information on this particular deceased as it was a public burial arranged by the department of Repatriation. No age or date of death is known. The only information we know is that the burial took place on 11/07/1963.
Back to the drawing board?

From reply #27 we learn that although this Arthur Curwood died intestate, "an election to administer was filed". So somewhere in NSW archives, there should be court documents showing how his estate was distributed. Hopefully someone will be able to advise you as to how you might sight these documents, because something useful may be found here........

This Arthur Curwood was in the AIF in the war.
Died 6 July 1963, Balmain
Letter dated 13 August 1963, The Public Trust Office, N.S.W.
Arthur Curwood, no. 2271, Driver, 38th Company, A.A.S.C.
"It appears that the deceased died intestate and left no next of kin. Could you please search your reords...."

According to his army record, his father was John Curwood of Brunswick, Victoria.
