Aberdeen Archives in Dunbar Street, Aberdeen are very helpful.  And they hold several school records.  I actually saw Seaton Road pupils book and found when myself and my brother started at the school.  I also found records of my father and his siblings at their school when they started and the bonus was that it indicated their fathers occupation.
