Church of Christ, Alvanley Place, Birkenhead

I have in front of me a little book entitled "The Christian Hymnary". Inscribed inside the front cover are these words: "Used by Church of Christ, Alvanley Place, Birkenhead, Cheshire" . . . England 30.7.1939." Hymn 312 is marked by a cloth bookmark.

It was in the summer of 1939 that my great aunts, Ada and Caroline Forster, who had emigrated to Minnesota in the USA in the early 1900's, returned to England to visit. Ada was a minister of a Christian Church in Minneapolis in 1939. Carrie was a social worker.

Is the Alvanley Place congregation still in existence, or is there a successor church in Birkenhead?
