Ronald H H Stokes

Ronald Stokes born 08.08.1916 married Lilian Todd in 1950 in Folkestone. He was a JP in the 1970s and a Freemason of the Radnor Lodge in Folkestone. He died 10.2003, probate date 30.01.2004 Nr 1420780.
Can anyone help with his parents and birth place and education / military service?

Hi,

Free search of the 1939 has a Ronald H H Stokes b.1916 living in Hythe with Hubert F Stokes b.1887 and Marjorie Stokes b. 1887.

Hubert's burial 22 Oct 1955 records his occupation as Army Officer retired.

Perhaps Ronald was born overseas.

His probate calendar entry (30 Jan 2004, following his death on 1 Oct 2003) shows Ronald’s full name as Ronald Hubert Haldane Stokes.

I think this must be the Ronald Stokes who was a teacher at Westbrook House School when I was there in the 1950s. There is a photo of Ronald and Lilian at this site:
