Reg offices were only roughly 10 miles apart so people were within 5 miles of one and used to short 5 mile strolls!

People in Canada or Australia often had a decent 100 miles stroll to town!!

I so admire our Irish ancestors for the adversity they met head on and dealt with  on a day to day basis.

I don't mind a long walk but 100 miles would put me off big time.
