Burial Register llanfair is gaer
« on: Saturday 28 July 18 18:39 BST (UK) »
Sorry i am back again, but with a new question if anyone can help.  I have been struggling to find burial locations at llanfairisgaer/caernarfon for some time now with many many of my grandparents APPARENTLY buried there!!!
But my question is this, in the parish register i have found enteries for 6 family members buried there, but No Sign of  a gravestone for any ! BUT the one Grave that i have found that has my great x4    g/parents there...There is no entry for neither in the llanfairisgaer register!
Can anyone explain why? or am i doing something wrong?   regards neil..

robert jones 1832-1898......catherine jones 1843-1903

Have followed the link given by WelshGen going to Baptisms for my chosen parish (Llanfair Isgaer) for Caernarfon archives but find myself going round in circles, not being able to do a name search nor continue by browsing. Would WelshGen be kind enough to post a path that actually lets one research? I am a total dullard, agreed, but would love to access the new information. If they are really accessible the Archives office have done a wonderful job.

The list I posted to gives you a list of records for Llanfair Isgaer that the record office holds. You would either have to visit their office (which is on the quay in Caernarvon) or ask for a copy of the relevant list. I know from past visits to the cemetary that the burials covered start as early as 1771 so there are some details missing.

In the absence of entries in the Parish register, are these dates on the headstone? If so, there is no guarantee they are correct/accurate. Or have you established years of death from civil records?
Have you checked the parish register using a wider date spread?

Hi and thanks for reply..Yes the dates are on the headstone of robert and catherine.
But my concern is that They are the ONLY burial/Stone I have found out of 7 Relatives.
All of which ARE logged in llanfairisgaer parish burial register!
I just Find it weird that there is no entry of stones for them

Put simply, dying doesn't guarantee a headstone. Depends on those who are still left - and preparedness to spend money (amongst other things).
Burial registers identify the day/date etc of burial - they don't identify the location of a grave. This info. may be held separately.
