Cambridgeshire Links Please
« on: Sunday 29 July 18 10:42 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am searching for Jack born 1944-45 in Cambridgeshire possibly near to a Prisoner of War Camp(?)
His father was an Italian POW Ildebrando Verrusio and his Mother went by the name of "Paddy" We believe that Paddy may have been in the WAAF Medical Corps. Ildebrando was treated at Littleport Hospital for an eye injury so may have met her there. He was repatriated back to Italy at end of war. His half sister is now desperately  trying to find him or his descendants.

To this end I am trying to locate as many as possible local groups, family history clubs or anywhere I can post a booklet to/put advert in magazine etc, no matter how small. So I'd be grateful if anyone in Cambridgeshire could give me any names of clubs/societies etc. I have already contacted the Cambridgeshire Family History Society. Many thanks.

Is Jack a surname or forename?
Any idea of Paddy's surname?

Hi Pauline  No Jack is the baby's Christian name.

We only know the girl's name is Paddy which is written on back of photo. I think it could be Patricia/Patrice or similar. Someone said Irish but I think that might be a bit off especially for a girl. Mind you it was the 1940's and they weren't quite as PC as nowadays.
