In 1956, the electoral roll has a Lydia Sherwood at 10 Bray House. She is also shown at the address in 1945, albeit as one of many occupants of 4-5 Duke Of York St rather than specifically at flat 10.

I hesitate to put this down in writing, feel free to shoot me down... could Lydia Sherwood be the lady on the left in this photo? Sometimes I see a resemblance, mostly it feels like wishful thinking. I'm leaving this part-researched for now, in case it's a wild goose chase.

Agree with Jim, seeing the back of the photo would be handy.

It looks like the "&" symbol comes down from the lady's thumb almost like a flower...There is also an exclamation mark so I'm wondering if this signature is a stage name...not that it helps. I tried to make it clearer too..looks like it could end in yna...or yn followed by a lazy kiss.

A review from Hull:

...  Marjorie Stevens and Lewis Barber sing and dance pleasantly; the Melvilles are capable jugglers; while Wyn and Ivy in Mirthful Moments " are always amusing. Bob Lloyd again acts as host, while Betty Hill sings and dances .....

According to Ivy's obituary in The Stage they toured with ENSA during the war so that may be how the photo came into Kevin's father's hands.
