Edward Williams b 4 Oct 1908
« on: Monday 30 July 18 16:16 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone.

First time poster here but my research has run into a wall that for a few years now I haven't been able to get past.

I'm looking for Edward Williams B: 4th Oct 1908
Married Ellen Battman dec 1937.
I cannot for the life of me find any prior information relating to him. He is likely to have been born around poplar as he spent his whole life there after marrying .
Battman

Welcome to Rootschat :)

What is the source for his precise birthdate - is it the 1939 Register, a death registration or another record?

Do you have his marriage certificate for info including his paternal details and witness names?

From what I can tell from a free search of the 1939 Register, his birthdate appears to be recorded there as 22 March 1908 ???

Hi. thanks for the super fast responses.

The exact details for his birth actually came directly from his son. However they are also reference via the death index.

Sadly I don't currently have any certificates for Edward something I hope to change in near future.

Hi Avm228

That's the correct man and info relating to his wife and daughter.

Have a look at them in the 1939 Register (available on both Ancestry and Findmypast) and you will see what I mean about Edward's birthdate (in fact his daughter's birthdate seems to be one year out, but there you are.  Ellen's looks right).

You say that the suggested October birthdate tallies with his death registration - I'm struggling to find that.  When & where did he die?
