OK - I see that now - he died aged 52, Dec qtr 1960 Stepney.  But a 1960 death registration does not give a precise birthdate, so does not support the October versus the March date.

Looking at 1939 register Maureen dates are definitely correct as is Ellen.

His birthdate as I say was given to me by his son. It could of course be wrong but I'd hope his son didn't get it wrong. I  think I may also have that on his burial card at home.

One thing is clear - you will need that marriage certificate!  For a name as frequent as Edward Williams you'll need to glean every clue available.

Exactly what I had concluded. Can only narrow the prospect with his middle name of George which is still a very popular name at the time.

Thank you for your time anyway.

Where do you find his middle name of George?  (Not on his marriage or death registrations, or on the 1939)?

Family again. Sorry should have put that in my first post. Maybe again on the burial card I have. I will check this when I go home later to be sure.

Had a check, middle name and birthdate aren't on the card.

Think it'll have to be the marriage cert when I can get it
