transcriptions of Llanrhidian baptisms are on FreeReg, parents shown as John & Ann Rees, but it appears that the parish is not included in the ones available via FindmyPast which have scans of the register. I haven't spotted a likely marriage from 1813 onwards - I have an index - nothing in Llanrhidian, and too many John Rees + Ann to take a guess.

Thanks Osprey for your help
Looks as if I've reached a dead end with this particular branch - can't think where to go next.

Hi Rosie
Witnesses were
Amy (or Arny  - not likely?) Lloyd and Ann Morris - both made their mark.
Haven't come across those names in the research so far

Osprey - thank you - such a good suggestion to go to Swansea archives.
They do hold Llanrhidian parish records and for a fiver did two scans for the date ranges I was suggesting
The baptism of Ann daughter of John and Ann Rees 20/11/1824
The marriage of John Rees and Ann Morris in Penclawdd - date 28/4/1820
Both sound likely because they also told me there were only two other marriages of John Rees with an Ann in Penclawdd and the dates were very distant from these.
So perhaps I have got back another generation.
Now I must consider the Morrises in Penclawdd!
Thanks again

that was worth a fiver!

There was a John & Mary Morris having children in Penclawdd a little later. An infant son Henry was buried 17 March 1810 residence Penclawdd.
Also a John Morris aged 26 buried 11 Jan 1819, no relatives mentioned.
A Mary Morris aged 71 was buried 29 April 1835.
