Hi xin,

If you're using W10:
- click on the Windows logo (bottom left of screen)
- click on the cog (or wheel thingy) = "settings"
- click on "Devices (bluetooth, printers, mouse)"
- click on "Touchpad"

You can either turn it off or just uncheck "leave touchpad on when mouse is connected"

You may need to restart W10 for it to take effect.

I had the same problem in the past and it really does drive you crazy!

Hope this helps,

Mike

If you press F6 it should freeze the cursor....press again to turn it on!

The principle should be the same xin, I can't remember what W7 looks like but there should be a Windows logo or menu and/or some way of getting to the 'settings' menu. Don't know whether there's a 'devices' button/menu but the touchpad should be in there somewhere, maybe under "mouse" or something similar.

It should be listed under Maintenance in Control Panel...  I don't have any problems, so none listed!

I have those problems when I use the inbuilt keyboard. I had never thought of seeing if the touchpad could be disabled although my wrist does brush some of the other keys as well. The answer was to use a separate keyboard which means that I can still touch type rather than watching where my hands are.

Just search  Touchpad    and turn it off
