I think it says

'Henrietta Sturgeon lawful dau (meaning daughter I suppose!) to William Sturgeon ......

Henrietta Lawful Dau to William Sturgeon ....


I am quite sure there is NO surname written between the words Henrietta and Lawful Dau, nor would I anticipate that there ought to be.  :)

And I think Hester might actually be Flesher - his occupation.

A flesher was a butcher.

I have often wondered when the term changed to 'Butcher'? 
I do prefer 'Flesher' as it sounds less callous  :)

I agree that the word after William Sturgeon looks like his occupation (Flesher).

You might like to look at other entries on the same page to see if they follow the same layout - ie Child's name, Father's name, Father's occupation, followed by names of Witnesses.

Which place is this record from? If it is from one of the towns, as a flesher, he might appear on guild or burgess lists. They can be useful in providing other genealogical information.

The record is from Scotland in Dumfries.
